It’s a rainy day on Christmas break. You know what that means: a full-blown re-design and re-build of the website.
I’m calling it the “quilt”, because that’s the closest thing to the vision in my head. You can see the crude shakeout here. Sorry about the mess.
The lesson I’ve taken away from past redesigns (often painfully) is to push-and-pull between the napkin sketch and reality. Otherwise you design something great that doesn’t work in practice. Or you build something technically great but doesn’t have a soul.
The quilt is currently in a frenetic back-and-forth between those two states. As it should be.
