Meta and OpenAI announced their respective slop trough social platforms this week. The former is pure brainrot whereas the latter also allows you to create deepfake videos of your friends or idols doing compromising things.
What are we doing? I’m embarrassed this is my industry, let alone that I worked at both places.
I know I’m conjuring the “old man yells at sky” image here but it wasn’t always like this. Technologists were traditionally the fringe idealists. There’s a reason why the industry grew out of San Francisco.
